Bye-bye boring content. Hello podcasting that actually pulls its weight.

Every week, we focus on the 3 things that make your show easier to remember, easier to share, and a whole lot more likely to bring in premium clients.

🔥 Memorable – Say something worth remembering. We turn up your CORE CONVICTION so your message sticks longer and stops sounding like every other expert on the internet.

🔥 Referable – Build the kind of trust that makes people talk. We help you create a show people want to share, recommend, and bring up in conversations without you begging for “visibility.”

🔥 Profitable – Your podcast should do more than collect downloads and compliments. We build content that supports premium offers, brings in real leads, and doesn’t leave you with 3 likes, zero sales, and one pity comment from your aunt.

xoxoxo,

Jen

Become Memorable

Write Notes that show you off.

Not in a weird, chest-thumping way. In the kind of way that makes people think, “Wait… who is this? I like her.”

Your Notes do not need to sound polished. They need to sound interesting.

A little tension. A little personality. A little “well now I need the rest of this story.”

If your Notes read like boring business updates, people will scroll right past you like you never existed. Brutal, but true.

🎬 Teeny tiny action: Your move for Monday. Write 3 Notes that make people want to know you better.

Use this simple framework:

The Note Formula

1. Hook

Start with a line that makes people stop.

2. Twist

Say the thing that makes them curious, surprised, or slightly concerned for your wellbeing.

3. Why it matters

Land the point. What did you learn? What do you now believe? What changed?

4. Invitation

Give them an easy way to respond.

Fill-in-the-blank frameworks

Note 1: The Confession Note

I __________.

I know. That sounds __________.

But here’s why I did it: __________.

Now I’m convinced __________.

Have you ever __________?

Example:

I killed my podcast.

I know. I know. That sounds real bad for a podcasting coach, eh?

But there’s a reason why I killed it.

Now I’m convinced not every show is meant to stay alive forever.

Some need to end so the better one can begin.

Have you ever had to shut something down before it sucked the life out of you?

Note 2: The “I made a shift and I feel better” Note

This works because it shows:

  • your energy changed

  • you made a clear decision

  • you have a lesson other people need

  • you open the door to a DM without sounding desperate

Emily-style framework

Officially retired from __________ and I’ve been feeling __________ ever since.

If you’ve been wrestling with __________, send me a DM because I’d love to help.

Emily’s example

Officially retired from IG and I’ve been so energized as a creator.

If you’re wrestling with what platform to be on, send me a DM because I’d love to help.

Plugging your drains will help you actually get to your dream destination 🚢

Emily was inside the Substack Podcast Studio KICKOFF session Friday - we talked about notes and so much more when it comes to launching/relaunching your podcast. Come on into the Studio.

Become Referable

Branding matters.

As Amy mentioned in our live earlier this week, branding is the thing I harp on. And a necessary harp indeed. Because if people land on your Substack and your message is a blurry mess, they aren’t going to refer you.

They’re going to click away before they ever get to the “Subscribe” button.

Inside the Substack Podcast Studio, we’re making sure Monday’s Roundtable sets you up to change that.

The top 3 branding errors killing your referrals:

1. Your promise is far too polite (aka boring)

If your headline sounds like you just filled in the blanks of a desperately polite “I help [target] achieve [vague result]”

You’re doing something along the lines of those Mad Libs puzzle we used to do on long car trips as kiddos.

The problem? 400 (or 4000!) other people in your niche are also using. And…that is putting your ideal clients to asleep.

Sleeping people won’t remember you, let alone share you. You don’t need a dry “I help…” sentence; you need a clear line in the sand.

🎬Teeny tiny action: Write your new promise using this “Bye-Bye/Hello” Framework:

  • Bye-bye [What they’re tired of doing].

  • Hello [The result they actually want].

  • Turn your [Podcast/Substack] into [The primary business outcome].

Example: “Bye-bye video pressure. Hello profitable podcasting. Turn your podcast and Substack into a high-trust pipeline for premium clients.”

2. Your page looks like a branding identity crisis

Your photo says “professional,” your banner says “hobbyist,” and your writing says “I have no idea what my desk looks like because I’m so chaotic.” That’s not intrigue. That’s a sign to leave.

🎬Teeny tiny action: Do a 60-second brand gut check. Put your photo, title, subtitle, and banner side-by-side. Do they all feel like the same person, or are they fighting each other for the spotlight? Pick one vibe and clean up the oddball first.

3. You’re building a ‘mystery box’ instead of a business

If one week you’re posting about gardening, the next about finance, and the third about podcasting… congratulations, you’ve built a “Mystery Box”. Mystery boxes are great for surprise gifts and gag gifts, but they’re a death sentence for referrals.

People refer what they can repeat.

🎬 Teeny tiny action: Pick your 3 repeatable pillars.

  • Pillar A: (The Core Authority) [Jen - Podcasting Monetization]

  • Pillar B: (The Method/Process) [Jen - Mic Drop Mastery Method]

  • Pillar C: (The Conviction/Worldview) [Jen - Biblical worldview]

If it doesn’t fit one of these three things, don’t use it.

Become Profitable

I’m keeping this one short and sweet. And, sharing why.

It’s been one heck of a push to launch these paid tiers.

It’s Friday at 4:43pm and I need to record the voiceover.

My husband is hanging outside my door asking, “Are you ready?” to go play golf.

The entire reason we build these high-trust pipelines on Substack is so we can walk away from them.

If your current setup doesn’t let you close the laptop at 5:00 PM on a Friday without your revenue stalling, we need to fix it.

🎬 Teeny tiny action: Join us during JUNE inside the Substack Podcast Studio. Let’s get your premium pipeline built so you can go play. Alright - God Bless You! See you at Monday’s Roundtable.
